Help!!!

  Lotus Elise
My car is parked in a underground car park over night, but I have noticed they is water dripping from a crack in the concrete onto my bonnet. The results of this is a milky stain on the bonnet of my trophy. I have tried water, Super resin polish and intensive tar remover but it hasnt budged. I can however scrach it off with my finger nail.

It seems to be some kind or salt from the concrete but how the hell to I remove it :S

Cheers
Sam

Hey Sam, do NOT scratch it off with your fingernail! You WILL make scratches by doing that :(

I suggest you wash the spot with water/shampoo, then dry it without rubbing over the spot. Then use a clay bar to remove contaminants, but if it's a water spot you might have to use a product that polishes and removes oxidation/water spots.

The Super Resin Polish that you have doesn't really really polishes, it cleans and fills but won't remove. Try a orange lake country foam pad with a medium grade hand polish, that should do the trick.
Otherwise send an email to one of the detailing webshops.

Farecla G3 should cut through it if a clay bar doesn't do the trick. Polish it back up properly with something finer like SRP once you've done it though.

Isnt that a pretty heavy compound? I dont know if SRP is aggressive enough to be the perfect follow-up and remove all the G3 traces. (I haven't used it).

G3 is worse than TCut. Really wish people would stop coming out with the G3 comments as they are horrendous polishes used by bodyshops to do a quick mop of painted panels. NOT proper correction.

203s or 3.02 IP from Menzerna will see you just fine. If you can't get hold of these (online) then SRP will work, you just need a little more time and elbow grease. It will only be a water spot with a higher level than usual of contaminants and fall out.
