Mate has a Ph1 172 its year 2001 its done 66000 miles and 2 weeks ago had the cambelt done at renault. now pretty much since this has been done he has been noticing strange power loss
The power delivery just isn't smooth, will get to 4k revs and then will pull but nowhere near what it normally does
it's got worse over the last few days and judders at idle
one night after sitting at idle for 10 minutes the engine management light came on
after driving off again the light then went out
The car was taken back to renault and they just said hmmm we're not sure but we'll try changing the coil pack, so he took it away and has changed it himself, however its still got the same problem
What else could it be?
another mechanic said maybe a cracked sparkplug or problems with the leads
when he slowly accellerates it will go but not very fast.
has also tried putting in a tank of higher grade fuel
any ideas?
