Hesitation in 3rd @5000rpm onwards

Hi my brother has just bought a 172 cup
In 3rd gear there seems to be a miss fire or hesitation at 5000rpm upwards to the red line
Any ideas please

Is that a defo mate,, or a guess,,
I presume renault would be able to fix it,
Why is it only in 3rd mate,,
I noticed whilst i drove it, that at 1 time it was ok, but all the others it did it,,

Renault might be able to fix it, but there are other garages I'd take it to, before Renault

Well, I'd choose Birchdown as their closest to me. But even that's a hour and a half away.
