Hi a quick question on how to remove aircon?
I have a phase 1 172 sport and have removed the aircon completely how can I get around this belt wise?
Is it possible to put a smaller belt on it to avoid the aircon?
Sorry I am abit of a novice at all this but learning as I go along Thanks hope someone can help :)

Surly there has to be another way around it ?

If not is it safe to run air con pulley but with no aircon attached e.x
Sorry here if I'm being abit optimistic

If that was the case, then someone would have already found a way around I'm sure.

On my car, I have removed the PAS and the AC so i think thats a bit different.

I fitted a Renault 11 alternator bracket (£12 from renault) and a belt from the local motor factors for £5.

But if you're keeping the PAS, you will need to buy the proper kit. Don't forget that the kit comes with better, lighter pulleys.

Just leave the commpressor on and leave the belt run alone.

I've always wondered this, surely like you say if its off their is minimal drag. Its just on its outer bearings instead of turning the compressor!

Does it really make that much difference to average Joe though?
