Eh?
The standard of living over there (from my exposure at least) is outstanding compared to over here.
They dont all have flash tv's, computers, fast internet and video games, well they do in the cities but not in the sticks like you get over here. But they have nice big houses, lots of land, top quality food, lovely weather but still have the seasons, streets are sociable, neighbours often share a drink at night, everyone drinks from being young which stops binge drinking since everyone is used to having a little often. And unlike most similar places they have very few tourists.
There's a small but beautiful coast, Piran might not have a beach but is probably the best coastal town I have ever visited. I actually love the place, the best country I have ever visited. I would love to one day live out there, the sacrifice of living a financially poorer life is more than made up by the richer quality of life.
So, erm yeh, its nothing like the UK, and hopefully never will be lol
