I have just picked up a 172 Ph1 and have had a bit of a time with it already but im happy its running alright now and im very happy with it.
I live in Preston but found the car in Chester, after test driving it and buying it i went back the next week to collect it and got about 40 miles before the gearbox exploded doing 50mph in roadworks on the M6.
Luckily i found a recon gearbox and got the dealer to replace it and cover all the costs so all is now well except my speedo not reading right but i have read about that elsewhere on here.
Nice to be back onto a forum with a car worth talking about!
