Hi

Hi

I need some advice after careful consideration im not sure what car i want to have as my first it must be a clio :D

Not sure what to get

1.4 billabong
1.4 sport
1.4 dymatic

All models have been taken of the renault website under the used car section!

Anyone advise?
And maybe give me some good places to look and buy the car?

Thanks

Welcome to cliosport, im not clued up about the above cars tbh but im sure some people who have owned or still own the above would be able to advise you.

  Clio 1.4 16v Billabong
I have the 1.4 16v Billabong in cyclone to match the interior!

It is the same as the other 2 really just it says billabong every where and the interior is slightly different. I believe the rest of the car to be the same as the rest.

Whats the millage and prices?

Nice car had a few problems nothing major. How many miles and how much do you want to pay?

How soon do you want one?

  Golf GTI PP Mk7
the dynamique (not dymatic, lol) is the higest spec'd of the lot if memory serves, theyre available with xenons, climate control, alloys, cd player, auto wipers and a few other bits and bobs.

im sure sum1 will correct me if im wrong there...

Mine is a 1.4 16v dynamique billabong.

On mine i have alloys, cd player, auto lights, auto wipers, i dont have xenons or climate control in mine. I have a sun roof aswell its crap though.

I have a nice budget cus of saving for a clio since last year!

£6000

Without insurance fund

Not to fussed on miles i maybe change the interior to black and white or black and gold.

As long as its in good condition its good!

It depends what ages I'd guess the ones your looking at are about the same pricethe deal was the Dynamic was a sports spec with decinet spec level wasn't the highest level but the highes t one most people ever bought realy. The Billabong was the special edition it has a different coloured seats CD player as standard (dynamic was an option until about 53 plate when it became stock although 99% of them have the CD plyer anyway as people payed the extra) and it has some stickers. a 1.4 billabong is rare though.

The 1.4 sport well they makde the Mk2 phase 1 in a sport spec much liek a dynamic spec was a bit lower no auto lights etc. If its a phase 2 then its most likly a dynamic they have just missnamed.

The thing is spec levels etc changed during production ie Auto lights and wipers became stock about 02 plate I think on Dynamics.

Best place to look is the autotrader.

So

Would it be better to go for a 1.4 dymamic or a billibong?

No difference realy personaly dynamique thougha s i prefere the less vivid seat coliur and don't like the stickers 9then again you can remove them). Just go for the best deal you can realy only IMo go for one other the other if you want/cannot stadn the seat colour and arn't going to chnage them anyway.

How old are you pal? If you're 20+ I'd be looking at a 172 with that kind of money. But some people are sensible and not complete petrolheads :p

Buy private and get soooooo much more with your cash mate, sure some local members would be able to look at some Clios with you.

The money you save private will (touches wood) easily cover the costs of anything that may happen.

I'd go for small engine (even 1.2 16v) and loads of kit if you can find the right model.

what is a dynamique billabong?? 2 cars welded together?

What kinda deal should i ask for wth a dealer?
Check prices against parkers etc and other on private sale personaly unless you know what to look for etc and want a risk try push a dealership for a good price and pay the bit extra over a private sale as you get a warently and comsumer right if the engine falls out as you drive way as a private sale gives you no come backs.

The 1.2 16V is cheaper to insure and its not much of a step down.

No such thing.

Its a dynamique realy but a specail edition which they called a Billabonf it was no longer called a dynamic but its realy the same car with a CD player if it was a 52 or so plate as standard a different colour seat and some stickers.

Zeons and climate were optional extras.

All of them come with sunroofs. The higher engines sizes ones often have electric sunroofs which are no better than the manul ones IMO.

  Clio DCi 65
Hav a look at DCi 80 if you got any going locally!

Cheap to tax, fuel costs minimal and they have a bit of pull in them IIRC?

i was insistant on getting a 1.4 dynamique, i happily settled with a 1.2 16v dynamique though as the 1.4 was quite rare and hard to find in the right spec!!

1.2 16V is more than decent, Clio parts are generally very easy to find. Expect to pay reasonable sum from Renault but most specialists and motorfactors stock a wide range.

I'd get the 1.2 in full dynamique spec, 1.4 won't offer you much more and will be expensive to insure etc

Only had a MK2 ph1 1.2 (only 8v too but plenty of fun) but sure someone on here can list it, dunno if it's an option but I'd try to avoid ones with sunroofs (rattles!)

Any questions i should be asking?
Nope for a dealership the only worry realy is price crash damage etc should all be checked by them.
Are parts really rare?
What parts?

CLios are a very vey common car so no end of parts far them.
So should i get the 1.4 or 1.2

Thats not gonna be easy as they all have them bar the RS models.
