Hi guys and girls,

I was just thinking about getting a HID kit for my 1.2. i was just wondering if they would fit into the standard headlights.

Cheers,

Get ready for some stick......

They will fit but they will blind every one coming the other way.

Best bet is to buy some 2nd hand 1*2 headlights.

Yes, they fit. Think its the H3 kit you need.

It is/will also be illegal and will fail an MOT with HID's in standard headlights.

I had them in my 1.2 but had to take them out because I was blinding people and got pulled by the police for them.

I would strongly recommend you try and pick up some of the 172/182 xenon headlights.

I'm running 6k HIDs in non projector headlights and they aren't too bad...never had oncoming traffic flashing me or anything.

Go for it!

That doesn't necessarily mean you're not dazzling folk though. I don't flash people. It's pointless. They'll carry on regardless anyway.

My advice is to just get some good quality halogen bulbs and wait until you can either get a proper HID setup, ie the correct light cluster, or a car that actually comes with them.

Osram nightbreaker lamps is what you want for the time being

Have you ever been driving the other way when a car that clearly has HID's in non projector headlights has been coming towards you?

Its actually dangerous on a dark road.
