HID Kit

Hi,

Been offered a brand new HID kit by my mate, question is, by law I have to have headlamp washers dont I? If I fitted them and didnt have headlight washers and was pulled, would they just simply ask me to change them?

Headlamp washers and auto levelling by rights. To be 100% legal you couldn't actually fit a kit anyway as the amended MOT notes now state that the headlight has to have been specifically designed for the HID's.

If they pulled you for it you may get a fine but will have to change them back and get the car 'approved' at an MOT station within 7 days.

this is a b***h cause i have them on my mk1 standard headlights...although i don't get flashed by anyone (to indicate they too bright) and i go past police every night with them on and have never been pulled once...

Like most not-quite-legal mods, run the risk if you want to IMO
