High Revving 182 engine at idle

My 182 has just started to play up; when sat at idle the car revs are just above 2200rpm, this then fluctuates back to around 1500rpm with excessive cycling of the throttle (with out me touching it). It's drivable almost normal except when slowing down and the revs remain high making it sound like you've got your foot stuck on the accelerator.
Or if I restart the car the Electronic Fault light comes on and the car goes into Limp mode.

Either a vacuum leak or a faulty MAF sensor. Car doesn't know how much air to add so it over compensates. Mine had a vacuum leak on the upper inlet means revs jumped about at idle but drove no problem at all. If you got access to RSTuner or diagnostic machine then that's a good place to start. If you got a friend with a RS could try changing the sensor to see if that is at fault ...

Have pulled the sensor out and the revs soared some I'm assuming that's working but ill have a price check to see if its cheap enough to buy one and try or as you say find someone close with another clio
