Hill Power 172 Induction Kit

  Skoda Fabia vRS

i heard its under development and there are pictures to be had

can someone post em please so we can have a look

Needs more development because the engine runs lean with this kit. Another month or two and hopefully it will be ready so I could get it fitted as well

Its running lean because you are increasing the airflow to the engine.
Basically if your have an induction kit and exhaust then you tend to make the car run more lean due to the air being aloud to enter and escape the engine faster. Therefore chipping will sort this.

But this should be corrected to lama 1 automatically. the ECU will not let the engine run lean if it can supply more fuel. And the standard injectors are capable of over 200bhp.

you sure?

It was my car on the RR that showed it running lean at 6k+rpm. Whos in charge of the engine at high rpm? Is it the ECU or the lamda...?

Gonna stick it back on the RR next week now that the IK is off, to see if that makes a difference....

well, its a close loop system where the lama sensor continuously send data to the ECU right! SO, if its running lean, itll correct it.

But define lean. It is a specific CO2 level? no, its where spluttering and blowbacks occur. An engine CVH engines run as low as 2.5% C02 and pintos alot higher. so depending on the engine, as long as it makes the nmost power and its happy, there is no need to call it lean.
youll have to check the plugs really to see if the engine is running lean. rich is when too much cabon is evident out teh exhaust as black smoke and the plugs are very black. very clean, white plugs show its running lean.

but i cant really comment without seeing anything.

Im not even sure what the CO% reading was that caused the RR guy to mention it. Dazz or Nick were there, so they might know.......

Ben m8 phone Hill power up and find out. I wasnt really sure what CO level it was. But he did tell me. Im assuming maybe the ECU can only adjust the fueling so far?.

Its a fab drive from London to HP, with some nice roads around HP too...the perfect place to test aout your mods...
