Hill Power or K&N induction kit

I own a 1.4rt mark one and want to get an induction kit as i hear they make quite a difference in the sound of the engine, and can give a slight peek in performance. So far i have been recommended K&N and hill power , which of these wud yo go for?? any advantages or disadvantages to either???

many thanks tom

Smoothed Clio (Pete) has an RT. He used to have a K&N, but now has the HP kit. I cant comment on any power improvements (as I doubt there really are any - see the mahousive post on IKs for the 16v!). But it does sound a bit better. I had a K&N on my old 1.2, which I think is the same as for the 1.4 - that sounded like someone was making Formula 1 noises through their nose - just poo compared to my 16v!!

the KN is just a bolt on filter, the hill power one is like a half open air box, which is the best way, get urself a good cold air feed too

go with the Hill Power

By the way Hill Power kit is the only one to even consider.

It is quite expensive but you get what you pay for. I felt a bit of a trade off in terms of performance, a little less torque low down but a more urgency higher in the rev band.

To be honest I wouldnt buy one for the performance gain, buy one because it sounds fantastic.
