andy, a rolling road "tune" wont do anything for your car as they cant really tune anything without ecu mods, unless of course its a clean your after

spot on Craggy..

;)

and tom, the difference with the hillpower conversion is that you WILL have the mixture at the top end set correctly as part of the conversion. - its not a bolt on, its the full job.

By all accounts on the site, yes it would, I think I am going to invest in a Hill power induction kit after Xmas when the road are not so dodgy.

how botu insurance with the old induction kits.. worth telling them, im 17 years old on my mums insurance i can imagine that it wud cost a bit more if i told them ne one got ne ideas????

Yeah, but Slarty, youre old mates with Nick Hill so you might be being biased there.. ;)

Thats a fair point Jas.

but I hope you have realised by now that I am heavilly into proof of concept lol..

Nicks kit is superb.. and has shown a sensible increase, and, the ability to keep the mixture safe at the top end..

a lot of differing makes of airboxes / kits will be similar.. you pay for quality and assurance.

I would rather have a kit that is proven to work, and be safe for the engine in all conditionds then to buy something with no history or objective results.

If that makes me bias, then, guilty as charged yer honour..

I will equally support any proven mod, from any manufacturer..

the difference is this m8..

Nick Hill is a specialist, ALL he deals with is renault.. He has a track record of proven race / performance engine development.. he tests his designs, and does not over-estimate benefits.. its not in his interests. Other manufacturers produce kits for anything and everything from a production line presuming that they will work and be safe.. but they DONT test them....

I assume you werent having a pop at Nick, cos I also assume that wouldnt be your style.... have a dig at me by all means m8.., but please dont question Nick, or, my, integrity.. I might not put things over in the best PC way sometimes lol.. but I would not promote something for old pals act.

That is NOT my style...

:(

Joe.

Hi GP..

due to the fact that the leaning out occurs at the top end, and that Nick is the only one (AFAIK) that CAN ACTUALLY alter the fueling in a cost effective way, it would appear to be giving a solid 3-8% at the top of the range..

It has a nice method of ducting air to the collector shield around the filter, and can even use the fog light as a pick up, although some may not want that, so an under bumper scoop is available.

The only negative is noise.. thats why I personally dont have one although Nick kindly offered me one to trial. I like my creature comforts lol..( I did however observe the development work at close hand btw)

Give him a bell, thats the best way.

Cheers Captain.

Thats how I think, would like the power increase but not the noise. May consider it in the future.

Do they affect warranty?

Nice to have you back!!!

in laymans terms...

K&N are designed to fit....

HP are designed to actually work with the specific car.

Even more simply... More power AND less risk of killing your engine
