Hmmm.. What to do..? Grip v bhp..?

  Italian 3.2 V6
Got abit of money to spend This week for a quater mile run I'm at on saterday...

I was supposed to be getting matches inlets but I haven't herd off the guys for a few days now :( and I only have 4/5 days to go..

So should I take a dip into getting a set of R888's to replace my budget "Nexen" tyres instead..?

Which would be better/more of an improvment for the 1/4 mile run..?

Bear in mind tyres would be fresh on Friday night ready for saterday..

OR is there Anything else more effective to buy insted for under £270!?!?

OR should I just wait and save or some 8kg bucket seats????

Thoughts please :S

just take weight out mate, the tyres will be good, but wont be worn in so you wont be getting the best out of them, the inlets would be good, but it wont make a huge difference

pull the rear seats out, ditch the spare wheel.

practise ur launches

these are the best things u can do......and the bonus is .......they cost nowt

R888's just for 1/4 runs?

From what i gather you really have to get heat into those tyres to make them sticky

mite wanna try dropping the pressures too.

never really bothered myself tbh..but quite a few of the lads did

Well no I would use them for my daily driving with the car.. Budget ones are ok but the rubber is the only thing that's keeping u stuck to the road.. The better the tyres the safer you are..

yeah, some go lower than 26, but its a balancing game as the lower tyre pressure the more rolling resistance you have

I wouldn't modify your car until you can afford a decent set of new tyres for it...not track day rubber for the front

if all you're doing is driving in a straight line (..), you just need a couple of fronts - part worn slicks/moulded semis, softer the better, cheaper the better (are you allowed to warm them up?). that, and take everything out of it that you can

probably

I can afford them LOL.. Thats y I'm debating on getting them now ;)

This may sound stupid but how long does it take to wear in new tyres!? I don't actually no.. Guessing a couple hundred miles!?

Harry : yea got the rear striped out already and yea last time ppl were wheel spinni g before launch..

Buy some proper tyres like Michelin/Pirelli/Continental...shouldn't take too long to scrub in a set of tyres.

strip it out

then take your passenger seat out when you get there. then you're minus 75 kilos.

that's what i did. easy peasy.

Yup...just go for a long drive, hope the roads are dry and show it it a few corners...being careful at first.
