Poor iPhone pics!

Up until this point I was taking home the 3m one from work if I needed it but obviously £400 worth of kit is a bit dodgy so i'm chuffed to bits.

All for the small price of £30. £25 for the drill from b&q and £5 for the bulb plus holder.

The solax bulb is £70 from 3m. I've got one coming for £14! Mark up? Never!

I can't see the link to DW but I'm sure I've seen something similar.

Didn't a dude do this with a hair-dryer?

Callum is going to have a play with it on Gaz's cup at the weekend and i'll use it on Pauls car next Tues/Wed. :)

Shame you don't have much use for one anymore Forearms. :(

Checking for swirls holograms ect... when doing correction work mate. Not really needed for cleaning your car to be honest.

The intended use of the 3m sun gun was to check colour cards in bodyshops, it was supposed to represent true sunlight when colour checking.

Spoke to Rob@Gtechniq yesterday, talked through full correction, C1, C4, G1,2,3 and C5 applications. Nothing like the price I was expecting so will be booking in sometime in the coming months.

If it has the right lumen output anything would/will work.

Obviously this was originally designed as Gally said was to do with colour checking.

Brinkmann also do one.

The solax bulb in question isn't used on any other device, it's meant to represent as close to daylight/sun as possible. For colour checking obviously.

There are other things out there like the brinkman but that's just really 2 small xenon lights. And the Lenser p7 torch is also very good but again it's just a torch.

The secret is in the bulb really.

You'll never make a businessman, Kevin.

There's cracking potential there. But you gave away your costings. Tut. Should be getting another 10 made and selling them on for a tasty profit.

God dammit!

They would have found the thread and then ousted me as a fake a fraud and a phoney! I would have been banished to the CS archives. :(

I like you're thinking though. Although I could charge £80 for them. 2 hours at £25 per hour is cheap labour!

Everyone would know the costings anyway..especially if they received a cheap modified battery drill with a bulb attached! ***

**Im also making one....started it 2 months ago ffs and forgot about it

Piece of piss really nothing to it.

If any of the detailing regulars on here want one and don't feel comfortable doing it just supply the bits and I would build it up for a beer.

Indeed mate, I wouldn't take anything for helping out, the more basic the drill the better.

That b&q was is perfect and a decent colour to look at rather than the other cheap black plasticky ones.

How about I operate on your 6th toes and you supply it?
