im doing pepsi's integra type R tomorrow and was just wandering what the paint is like as iv never detailed a honda before :)

i read somewhere its really soft? Will probably start off with intensive polish on a polishing pad...

Sound about right? Any general hints or tips? :)

start off with the least agressive one you have, or a medium cut jobby! that way if it needs it then move up, instead of cutting more than you have to!

tried to think if ive done a honda but only jap ive done is a corolla t sport. it wasnt too hard to do

I've never detailed one, never detailed any car, but from being a sprayer my experience with it is it's thin as hell and chips like nothing else I've seen.

You should always start with the least aggressive polish, then work your way up if you need more correction :)
on most NORMAL cars iv found that to be BS

you slap some menzerna FF on a polishing and to most cars that haven't been properly machine polished before it does nothing. Like when i first did my clio it just laughed at it and clios paint isn't exactly hard.

But i remember reading something about honda paint so was gonna be carefull anyway- as i am with all the cars i do but just wanted an idea of what its like to work with :)

True, when I used FF on my mums car, it did a bit, but by no means got everything off.
I guess if you start low, then you shouldnt have any worries :)

I've heard that Honda have had a few complaints about the newer UK cars having quite soft paint especially the Milano red..

Apparently the JDM cars have different paint.. :S

Not sure if any of it is relevant to older Honda's though
