Horn problems for the 95th time

I am getting so bored by the f**king horn going on my car.

I have ordered a spare one from Joshydee at Cliospares, arrived today (thanks lad).

Just attached it and nothing happens. I went to Halfrauds to buy some new clips, no idea what they are called, fitted a new one, still nothing.

I don't have a current tester, so I have no idea whether it is a problem with the horns or the wire, or something somewhere else.

Does anyone have any advice? Or know how much current testers are in halfords? Or better yet, know how I can make a rig up tester?

its probably the rotary switch/squib/slip ring what ever you want to call it its the part that allows the steering wheel to turn.

you need to go through starting at the switch checking out where it loses feed but its difficult to explain step by step unless you know what you are doing

Yup, start at the source.

Ive seen 5 of these break in clios.

Another common problem.

How easy is this Has mate? I.e. how easy to check the source?

And to be honest, it is going in to Birchdown on wed the 15th, so may just be easier to get them to do it??

Hey

Its not too bad. Depends if you want to check yourself.

1) Disconnect battery to discharge airbag

2) Press horn down 1 side at a time

3) While pressing down look behind it, theres metal tabs, these need to be pulled over to one side to release the clip holding the airbag down

4) Get someone to help you hold it down and use a screwdriver to release.

5) It should just pop forwards and you will see the horn wires.

Check for breaks etc.... this is the most common place for it to break as steering moves.
