Horn wiring diagram help / steering wheel

  Trophy #267
Can anyone assist me with the minor detail that my horn has stopped working. Its curiously a month after Renaukt changed my steering wheel but im sure it was working after they changed it....
I took the airbag out yesterday and im assuming the red / black connector is the feed to the horn as on of the wires is pulled to 12v when any of the horn buttons are pressed. I need to confirmt his before send 12v to something i shouldnt....
Also is there a multiplug connector in the steering column which has these connections as it would be very easy to confirm that buttons on the sterring wheel are working if i could test the continuity from a plug.

Help please

Rob

if you go straight from the horn connections to an aftermarket steeringwheel it WILL set on fire i ended up making a seperate switch down near the headlight adjustment through a relay

erm.. I only wanted to check if the buttons & rotary switch were working or if the horn was faulty. I had the steering wheel replaced mostly under warranty as the leather had split on the edge.

managed to get the fecker sorted. took ns front wheel off, removed wheel lining to access horn. checked feed and was going 12v when horn pressed on sterring whel so wasnt steering wheel at fault. Undid 13mm bolt holding horn on and cleaned with wire brush. Removed all contacts and cleaned similarly. Reassembled and found horn sortof working - tweaking inital feed to horn was the fault so i recleaned male and female spade connectors twisting one slightly to ensure a good fit and voila ! Fully working horn again.
Managed to get wheel back on and tidied up b4 the heavens opened too :)

Errmm. I just set mine on fire...wish i'd read this thread before!

Where is the easiest place to cut into the loom and place a switch. I want to make sure there's no power trying to get to the singed wires and isolate it on a switch on the dash.

It's only a track car so don't mind a bit of butchering!
