I need to replace the dsg inline stat on my car and need to clamp off both water pipes. Had a quick mooch on Amazon, the plastic type ones seem okay? . Anyone recommend anything other than those things.

I've always used the cheap plastic ones on coolant pipes and they've been spot on. For the price it's worth getting them. Nice they usually come in 3 sizes too
