how 2 take gear knob off

before i dive in and brake it is there any way to take the standard gear knob off

think most people end up cutting it off (take the top silver thing off 1st)

but it is possible to get it off by twisting it with grips or sommat apparently

all you have to do (this should apply to all models) is see if you can get the knob off by twisting it. if no luck there use a saw to cut the knob off from the gear stick. putting a gear knob on is easy u should get some plastic spacers with the knob this is t ensure the knob fits on tightly place the spacer onto the gear stick then put the new knob on and it should already feel tight then make sure the gear knob is straight (thats if there is the brand name on it) and then tighten the knob so it wont move about. hope this helps...
