how are halfords for fitting headunits?

I think its £40 but they are pretty simple to install.

Just get a set of stereo pins for about £2, pop em in, take out the headunit, pull out the wires, put the new ones in, tuck them at the back.

Put the new headunit case in, use a screwdriver to push the pins in so its stays, connect it up and good to go.

The new one will have instructions which are pretty easy to follow if you need them :)

Done a mates 106 head unit in halfrauds car park, took all of 5 minutes. Don't give 'em any more of your money!

I have never used them, i do it myself however if you really dont know what your doing then rather waste 2 hours trying to figure it out let them do it in 5 minutes then spend that 2 hours doing something more constructive with your time.

Its not that hard to do, hardest job is getting the plugs out of the standard headunit lol, took me ages

I use to work in the halfords audio section and fitted stereos.

Yes its easy to fit your own stereo to people who know what they are doing but most of the people that come into halfords dont no what a fuse is.

The prices vary on different products say you buy a 120 pound stereo it may have free fitting. But most are around 10-20 pound to be fitted, from the guys i worked with they all do decent jobs and make sure everything is working. Depending on what stereo you get you may need an adaptor around 10-20 pound, you wont need a facia as most stereos slot straight into the clio. But you wont be able to use your controls on the back of the steering wheel unless u spend an extra 50 pound for the adaptor.

But if they do fit it for you takes around 30mins to an hour depending on unit.

let them do mine in the 306 i had before this 182 right when i first had it, they ended up breaking the OEM head unit so i couldnt sell it, very annoying.

do it yourself, save your money and your old radio!

I work part time at Halfords and fit a few headunits.
Prices range from 9.99 up to 39.99, dependant on the headunit. The price for fitting is printed on the price ticket of the headunit itself.
Most of the mid range (~£100) are 19.99 for fitting. The only thing extra you'll need for a Clio is a aerial adaptor for 4.99, although Sony units come with them.

But as said its pretty easy to do yourself in a Clio.

Don't pay Halford's any amount of money to do anything with the audio in your car.... They're utterly s**t. I saw a guy getting a new number plate fitted at Halford's last week, the guy was completely stumped by the security bolts on the plate and said to the customer that he couldn't do it because someone had rivetted his number plate on....

They're a bunch of monkeys with spanners.
