How can i check wiring

Last year i had a vibe active 12" sub fitted in the boot,took it out over winter but left the wiring in place,ive tried to fit it back in and its not working,whats the best way to check the wiring (power,earth and remote) is still ok,i dont want to get rid of the sub box if its fine,any suggestions appreciated?

Digital multimeter and test each wire.

Maplins do them for about £5.

Check the fuses on both the power cable (fuse usually located in the black fuse holder near the car battery), and the amp itself if it has one.

Failing this, do as madcowz says.
