How can I get more power from my 1.4 mk1?

Hey all, I got a mk1 1.4 3dr clio in the summer for my first car.
Since then I have fitted a K & N induction kit and i'm soon getting a cat back stainless steel sports exhaust.:approve:
What other mods can i do 2 the engine 2 gain a few more horses?

There's quite a bit that can be done to that engine. If you get headwork, cams, 1.8 throttle body, 1.6 bottom end and the usual exhaust (which you are planning) and decat then the engine can be good for 120 - 130 BHP. If you don't bother with the 1.6 bottom end then you are looking at about 110 - 115 bhp.

Get a heatshield for the K&N and a de-cat with the zorst....

Keep it standard, your insurance will be nuts as it is. save your cash and in a year or so get a 172/182.... hey presto. all your mods in one go!

do u mean with the above mods including the 1.6 bottom end you could see 120-130bhp??

No, the engine can be good for, which means if you extensivly mod the engine, prolly means cams and headwork, possibkly larger valvers, upped compression ratio, al remapped....not sure if he is including throttle bodies in that either, although i woudln't have thoguht it woudl be worth doing bodies on a 1.6
