I think they are, they don't leak oil. But there 6 years old now.

Are you still happy with the way it's handling, if all seems ok I would save your money for a while longer, Unless your looking to upgrade to some tastey uprated suspension:cool:

Put it in for a service?
Or an MOT, Wouldn't the car fail if the shocks were shagged?

Yeah all is stock, just feel like it "wobbles" and bottoms out loads.

Are they leaking? Might feel sticky. One of my rear ones was buggared for ages and it didn't knacker the springs.

Not leaking in the slightest. Any of them,I would get coilovers but cost to much and i don't want to lower my car.

If your happy with ride height and body roll, it sounds like new shocks would solve the problem and sharpen things up. I've just fitted Koni Kit, adjustable shocks and -30mm. Speed bumps not an issue and no arch rubbing, as I won't tollerate it. Lifetime warranty on kit for under £400 del.

Bounce the each corner of the car. If it doesn't settle within 2 'bobs', they're shot IIRC.

lol but if i push the corner of the car down it feels like it will break (seriously)

like one of the guys said about bouncing each corner is a good idea also if you can get underneath it look at the coils and see if there is anything wronng with them if they are very badly rusted i would change them with regards to the shockies you could take it to a garage who could have a look at it for you dont go to kwik fit .......

I changed all my shocks and springs recently from 5year/70k standard stuff, to cup stuff that had only done 4k. The difference was significant.

I bet if you just spent £200 and bought 4 dampers either 172 or 172cup stuff from Renault you would notice a big improvement.

However I have used Koni stuff before and really like it and will be superior to the Renault stuff.
