How can i tell

Just been told off a mate that knows the chap who originally had my clio (i know sounds weird!) that it was a 2lt car. How can i check to see if it is or not?

Put ya foot down below 4k up a hill, does it accelerate?

You can look at engine too for the code..

It does pull quite well up hills yes.

Where is engine code on the clios?

Need to put your head right next to the dipstick virtually on the rubber seal, with a torch handy you will just be able to see the engine number plaque and the code F7R if its a 2.0L.

Another way of telling is when the rev limiter kicks in on a Willy it kicks in 6500ish and a valver should rev higher...well it did on my valver

ah! well it comes in at about 6750rpm.... So it must not be then. This weekend has been first chance to see what its like. Im really supprised at how quick it is (remember ive had a 5gtt for some time) engine seems to change totally at 5000rpm it comes on cam and just screams toward the rev limiter. I realy do like this car a lot. Needs a wheel bearing though its making a right noise from the N/S/R :(

what colour is the dipstick ?

as willaims have a blue or white dot on them.
a 16v has a black dot on it.
(i know that this my be irrelevant, but its likely that they would keep the dipstick with the engine)

If it changes totally at 5k then its deffo a valver!

A willy is coming to the end of it rev range then.

The only thing that ends the willy rev range is the limiter!

Sorry lads - came across the wrong way!

I meant that a willy limiter would be just about to kick in then thats all!

If a willy didnt kick until 5 and limited at 6 i think ud be in trouble! Lol

It is attached to the block, but you need to look past where the dipstick is located.
If you look in your handbook it will show you the location of it.
