How did the clio change from 2003 to 2004?

What changes did renault make to the 1.2 dynamique from 2003 to 2004?
ive seen the different engine and dash dials etc

plus what date these changes happen?

will i be able to adapt the relocation filter to fit an 04 plus the exhaust will defo fit right?

exhaust will fit, but i dont think the relocation will.

ive looked at the 2004 relocation kit and it looks the same just with another curve. Maybe i could just modify it :S

maybe i know it has a different airbox, hence why they dont make vipers etc for the 2004 model. sure someone like edde will come along and tell you more though

new engine (different inlet manifold, ecu, throttle body) (bit quicker, more torque, less responsive) also has a different cat (doesnt have a flexi to burst! lol)

your exhaust will fit, relocation kit wont.

my mates is a 53 plate and has all the ph3 parts apart from the engine, must have been using up engines to start with.

Because Renault just slap on any old bits they find on the floor. The engines arnt made in the same factory and come on pallets, so they were problably using up whats left of the slightly older design.

I've got a 04 plate phase 3 dynamique and it has the later engine, mines was a May 2004 reg though, pretty sure the engine was changed to the newer version from March 04 onwards hence why 53 plate phase 3s and some 04s have the older engine.

for example, Al from this forum I'm sure has a Jan 2004 (53 plate obv) and it has the older style engine, he told me the engine changed in about Feb/March 04

other changes are:
- 15" 'Alium' alloys - PH2 172 wheels but 1" smaller
- digital fuel and temp gauges and dash display relocated in instrument cluster
- facelifted front bumper
- silver topped gear knob
- grey colour surround on headlights - ph2 has black
- colour coded rear spoiler with tinted brake light
- chrome door handles and handbrake button
- plain black cloth pattern door cards
- different seat pattern
- delocked drivers door
- clear side repeaters
- heat reflective windscreen with a non uv reflecting part for putting parking tickets on etc.

mines was reg'd 24/05/04

so it musta been sometime april/may the engine changed over then, or it probably did change in feb/march because its common knowledge cars are made circa a few weeks before they are registered i.e. built early Feb, not registered till late March when the customer picks the car up.

I was just thinking that, as that IK you sold me fits just fine and mine was born on 4th October 2001 :approve:

- plain black cloth pattern door cards
- delocked drivers door
- clear side repeaters
- heat reflective windscreen with a non uv reflecting part for putting parking tickets on etc.

Those all appeared on the Ph2 at some point. Clear repeaters were from roundabout 03 onwards for example.
