How do i clean the crank sensor, TDC sensor

Car  E39 530i
My revs are sticking between 1,500 - 2,000rpm. Anyone got a idea how to clean the TDC sensor / crank sensor as eveyone is saying this is the problem.

Pictures and an idiot guide to doing this would be great guys.

Please help.
 
Was this problem ever sorted because I think i need to clean mine, the car sometimes cuts out when just starting OR the revs die out. I really don't want to take it into another garage.
