Not sure on plastics.

But been painting alot of my engine stuff.

Spend as much time on the preperation as possible as the spraying is the easy bit.

make sure every item you spray is thoroughly cleaned and degreased.

I spent 3 hours cleaning my rocker cover yesterday, another 3 hours masking up and every half hour spraying. :)

I would rough it first with wet n dry to help the primer bond to the smooth surface.

Yes it will need laquer or the paint will get chipped/scratched very easily and flake off.

When i painted mine i rubbed it down a bit with some 800 grit wet n dry just to give the plastic primer something to key into .

Tbh you probably don't even need any plastic primer as it's already been sprayed in the factory . I did it just to be on the safe side .

Yeah you'll need to give it a few coats of lacquer after the colour coat or the paint will just scratch off with the slighest touch .

Well I started to paint it and popped a sticker on too...it needs a few more coats of lacquer still....

nice one, good luck ;) I didn't sand mine down when I did it I just I little while cleaning it up properly. Mine came out pretty well and I only put on about 4-5 coats of lacquer and its held out fine

Are you going to lacquer over the sticker ? If it's vinyl the lacquer will melt the sticker and it'll curl up at the edges .

You cant see any primer in real life ..just think that was the flash..needs more lacquer there though definatly.
Iv lacquered over the sticker and it seems fine tbh...hope it will be fine, protected under the lacquer.
Ran out now so need to get to the shops in the morning:)

Your lucky then . If it was vinyl the lacquer would react with it and melt it .

If you find you've haven't got as gloss a finish as you wanted , get some Meguiars Scratch X , it'll come up really shiny .

Thanks:) yeah I was a tad bored and hade some paint and stuff left over from spraying my sport spoiler..its only taken about 2hrs in all.:)
