How do you...

Clean your car?

What type of car shampoo/polish/wax do you use? Every time I clean my car it ends up streaky. Asked the guys in the bodyshop how they valet the cars, and they just powerspray the cars with a good car shampoo, they dont even use a wax or polish but the cars end up looking immaculate?

How can I make my car look that good without spending all Saturday polishing it!!!

CHAMOIS!

Yeah I do use one, but after I have just washed the car, I find it really difficult to chamois the whole car before it dries and goes streaky!

In this weather it isnt a problem, when i was younger i used to clean cars around my local town, got throught about 20 a week, what i find when its really sunny, if you was one section of the car at a time, say the drivers side, then rinse this off wiht the hose, then move onot the next section, and when you rinse this section off go back over and rinse the previoius section, this way it doenst ever fully dry. If ti does before you chamois it just wet the area first, then when you chamois it over it removes the streaks. You shoudl never wash the car in direct sunlight.

In the winter i usually use 2 buckets of water, after ive finished the 1st one i hose the car all over, and again when ive finsihed the 2nd one, now the car is really wet and you shoudl be able to leather it easily.

Do you have a new chamios, sometimes if its old it takes ages to pick up the water, buy a new one, they are only a few quid.

Alalwys wash the car in sections...... Wash and rinse, wash and rinse. try to keep all parts of the car wet whilst washing so it doesnt dry as you go round!!! Unfortunately a cold overcast day is best for cleaning your car. When Im feeling lazy, I use TurtleWax Wash and Wax which leaves a lovely waxy finish to the car, and it hardly requires any drying. Then I use a silicone blade to dry the car.....

I take it to an autowash in Germany, and use the Jet wash, and brush ( nice and soft bristles) I cant handwash it cause I live in an apartment block and theres no taps downstairs. At the start of summer, I give it a good wash, dry and a bit of trusty turtle wax. But I have a stange window fetish, they need to be clean, I cant stand dirty windows, so I use windolene inside and out whenever there dirty.

washing cars is easy. i get a streak free gleaming finish every time.

i use the old halfords advanced car wash, its great stuff. First wash all the dirt off and then rinse it with a good few buckets of water.

Time to get the chamoi out. (i use this super dry one from halfords, cant mind the name). Make sure you keep squeezing the water out of your chamoi and try to clean it in water every so often...no point putting the dirt back on eh?

Then I spend a good ten hours cleaning mywheels (damn wolfrace!)..wonder wheels is the best!

every 2nd week I do the inside glass(autoglym fast glass), make sure you use this stuff right or you will end up with a streaky finish. About once a month i do the interior plastic...armorell is the best here, also good for tyres...although i use wet/black!

wouldnt bother polishing your car too much, maybe every 2-3 months..i personally cant find the weather to do it this time of year..autoglym super resin is the easiest/best polish IMO to use.

Ive tried loads of other products, but these are the best

Had my 172 supagarded b4 I collected it and use their own shampoo at present no streaks and no need for polishin. The supagard is supposed to last for three years and help protect the car against tree sap, bird s*** etc

I use "the girlfriend" that seems to work best and require the least effort so I can continue drinking my beer and playing my xbox.
