How far should my injectors be pushed in?

I was working on my car yesterday and struggled to get the injectors back in. I managed it in the end but can still see the rubber (only just, it's pushed right in) and wasn't sure if this wad normal or not. They won't seem to go in any further.

The car drives fine but I don't want to cause any damage, however I just want to be sure that they are fitted correctly.

Here you go :)

Obviously removed the fuel rail guard and moved the loom down to take the picture (normally should sit above the 2 mounting studs).

Thank you! They seem further in than mine. Can you see the rubbers when looking closely at them? I'll adjust them when I finish work. I didn't put the fuel rail guard back on because the nut had started rounding :( I'll have to get a new nut.

You can see a small bit of rubber ring on some of them (notice on the picture above you can see it on the one on the left, but not on the one on the right). tbh you would soon know if they weren't in correctly as it would do similar to what happened yesterday when you have an air leak :)

Tiny (and i mean tiny) bit of lube required on the o-rings to help them slip in and out.

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
spit is the best lube for them, guaranteed not to react with the rubber or make it rot or swell which the wrong lube can do

I use Silicon Greese thats designed for Boilers, that doesn't Eat the rubber, that way the things done get stuck when removing them

Dan you scruff ;) what if you have like a Oral STD it may eat the rubber ive been told what it does to your balls
