how good is sky hd

getting it installed on wed just wondered how good the quality is got a 50" samsung plasma hd with freeview and i think the freeview picture is good how is hd different

pish, my parents have it on their 50 and i honestly cant tell them apart

You havn't been watching HD content then.. :S

You do get used to it, but they're a world apart.

Remember, only certain things are HD.. (even on the HD channels)

aye, sky sports HD is no difference on it.. the movies are slightly better, but not really worth an extra £120 a year imo

No difference on HD sports?
Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaatt? Heh

Are you using a scart from the HD box? :p

god knows.. its not mine, its my parents.. but i honestly dont notice any difference.. sky guys installed it

I'd have a look at the connections mate.
The difference is very noticable on say, a premiership game.. Films less so difference, but football.. definetely.

There's not loads, but there's more HD content on them than people think.
Channel 4 HD just started, and that has the occasional thing on etc.

PMSL at the "there's no difference" comments.. Get some glasses..

I've had Sky HD for just over 6 months and it's awesome. Watch a footy match in HD for 10 minutes and then change to the same channel in SD and it's like watching a really bad asian vhs copy.

Some of my HD favourites so far -

Football
Cricket
Mountain
Palins New Europe
Prison Break
American Chopper
Various disaster/plane crash programs on NG HD
Some decent stuff on History HD channel
Loads of HD stuff on Anytime

I got HD at home on my 40 inch, and when you watch shows/films on HD its very very impressive.

Very much so worth the money.

It's pricey but really good. When watching Robin Hood on BBC 1 and then on BBC HD there is a massive difference. I think so far the content on Discovery HD is by far the best quality.
