Mirror Glaze? Yeah have a tin in the cupboard, it is good stuff. I've been using Collinite 476s recently for beading and mighty protection.

Hate it. It's about as solid as granite and you'll have arms the size of arnie when you finish buffin it off!

Crackin Beadin tho!

Used to be my winter wax of choice, not used it for years though. Works fine applied thinly - PC and 4 inch spot pad work well!

I am yet to apply a wax by PC but might do some 476s over Christmas if I am feel saucy... ;)

Only cleaned my car twice in 11 weeks now, some kind of uber record for me...although I think I have stopped driving so it isn't getting dirty, just water spots...I'm thinking I am going to have to go back to the SRP and start again when I get home. More fun than revising though...

a 4in spot pad fits straight into the #16 tin. But i agree/ I apply wax by hand...Find it easier and more accurate.

#16 is my only exception to my sealants or waxes by hand rule - The only way I can get it nice and thin is by machine.

Agree ^^

How long have you to leave this Megs #16 on for before buffing off ?

And can it be used/applied by hand ?

Is it a wax or a glaze ?

Would application with a foam applicator and removal with a microfibre towel be ok ?

And how would it be over Collinites 476 ?

I do #16 by hand but as Ali's said, it's a tough guy effort to buff off as inevitably it's too thick (hence Rich's suggestion of applying by machine).

I do a panel and leave it to cure whilst doing another panel. Once I've done the second panel, I buff the first one off and there you go.

On by applicator, off by mf is right.

Applying over 476, well that's just another wax so little point imo. A couple of #16 layers and it'll be right for winter.

Apply it panel at a time matey when it comes to buffing off, as in you've coated the bonnet, move onto the drivers side wing, once you've finished applying it to the wing the bonnet will be ready to buff off.

Its a wax but the stupid Americans who make it

It can be applied by hand no probs, it'll go on best with a foam applicator pad, plush microfiber for removal.

I've no experience of it over 476 so i cant really say mate.

I think that as the 476s is more durable, I would put that down first then the Megs, although they are fairly similar in composition so I would be tempted just to do a couple of layers of either rather than mixing them.

I have mixed the 476s with Onyx though and works extremely well.

Would the Megs take to the 476? Seems little point in doing that if the Megs or the 476 is your preference provided that you layer it properly?

I would use one or the other, the 16 should sit fine over the Collinite if you wish.

Used to do one half of the car, ie one side and then remove, then the other side and remove, then the roof and bonnet - remove and finish of with the bumpers and remove.
