how hard to swap springs?

J03

Car  MX5 1.8
i want the front of my car lowered... isit a hard job to lower it yourself? i have all the tools.
my friend said something when takin the shocks of or when the brakes are tilted the oil will come out or something... whats this all about and how can you prevent it? i wanted him to do it but hes been busy so i want to have a go at doing it seen as though ive dont alot to my car lately by myself. cheers.

thats a strange thing to hear, don't think I would let him near my car.lol.

rear springs are easy, fronts you got to remove the whole assembly and put in new springs.

hmm please explain?

something about the bearings inside whatever causes a leak or something.. he knows this by experience..

cheers for the bible btw

any1 have pics of 17s lowered at 60mm?

i think he was on about the shafts popping out.
btw the plan is 60mm apex springs, on standard shocks.
any known problems?

just need to know if the springs will affect anything... ride, steering.. handling etc. on STANDARD SHOCKS

nope still cant ha ha and if its only 3 cm lower thats only 30 mm ? though you are looking at 60 mm which is 6 cm if my maths is still up to scratch :)

oh i didnt realise . looks good though ! i would like to lower 60 mm on springs soon but not too sure amidst the talk about shocks and dampers getting fucked !

only reason i want to lower it more is because the back looks like its at 60mm for some strange reason... ive ordered 35mm... hmm but anyway just want the front lowered to match the back thats all....
