Pedantic answer.........Not much, most of the weight will be the engine. Ill go have a mooch around the renault website for the curb weight

Ok, starting at around 915kg and removing everything including:

Passenger seat

Rear seat

All door cards and plastic fittings

Roof lining

Spare wheel

Running it on steel wheels or light weight alloys i reckon you could get it down another 150kg ish? Might be a little over on the guesstimate

its a 1.2 rn clio, kerb weight of 815kg everything but the dash a a bucket seat is out. so if blink172 recons its around 150kgs out that gives me a ruff guess of 665kgs, at the mo that makes my cars power out to be 264bhp per tone est.



ive just poped the headgasket and am doing a top end rebuild with a few sneeky mods, so i should c that figure near to the 280bhp per tone mark soon. nice wheels

Same as is asking how much a 1.2 weighs when its no longer a 1.2 clio.

it aint that much difference as i did the conversion myself i lifted both engines, u cant really think that 200cc capacity increase weighs much, the fact that its an old style engine with less parts might actually make it lighter. dnt be getting all shirty, it was only an estimate

No doubt heavier than the 1.2 lump. (which to the best of my knowledge doesnt have the turbo hardware)

yep that old engine that forever out performs all of its bigger rivals, the turbo setup on them is basic, a turbo and an intercooler and a bit of pipework would be all that extra than whats found on a n/a setup car

I mean look at the a-series thats a superb engine.

What about the turbo? intercooler? Larger rad? Vacuum pipes? plus whatever else Ive missed. Must add up to quite alot over and above the weight of a 1.2 (NA) engine.

oh no not another weight topic!! plattsy will love you getting over 100 bhp from a 1.2 even though its a 1.4 turbo now!!

what about the fact it was built to accept more power so will be thicker as well as bigger

we can argue all day but the only way to settle it is to put the car on a weighbridge

PS. my 1.2 weighs 560 kg if i take out the back seats and dont eat for a few days
