  E39 530i
Got a Dell Inspiron 1520 which had Vista home installed. Formated the drive and tried to put Xp Pro on it but with no joy. I ve check forums regarding this craptop but nothing giving me instructions on my to do it.

Im getting a PCI.sys error when trying. Has anyone had this problem and gotten round it?

found this in a review.....

When booting an XP CD up it immediately crashed with a PCI.SYS error. I then had to Slipstream a XP build with SP2. After that I had to add Dell SATA drivers to the image. Then download pretty much all the other drivers from the Dell site. Maybe they have rectified that now with the inclusion of XP.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
Need to have the F6 drivers for Intel AHCI controllers (unless yours is the AMD, which will have it's own equivalent)

Install XP Dell Inspiron 1520 in Google gives you 4 or 5 straight off hits on guides for doing it...
