How long do u wait......

Varies from 1 engine to another - depends how good the cooling system is at regulating the temperature.

Normally wait till its warm ie. up to running temp, but I keep it under 4k not 3k.

erm aprox aslong as it takes me to start car up reverse and get upto 4k so about 15seconds lol

i never go over 3.5k untill oil temp is above 60. usually wait till just under 80 unless something comes up

I use the oil pressure gauge as more of a guide until the oil is warm, but generally dont take it over 3.5K til oil is over 60 and then gradually build the revs up.....

I wait until the temp gauge needle is up to halfway before taking it over 4k.

i tend to wait until the enigne is running warm (usally 5mins or so) before taking it over 3,000 revs. Then wait for the oil temp to reach half way (about 100 i think?) before taking it to the redline.

It makes me laugh when i go out to my company carpark. Theres a kid thats just spent over 4k on body styling for his BMW. No idea which BMW it is as its been debadged. All i can say is that it has rear drums - the fact hes painted them bright green made them stand out and tell me it wasnt fast. When he starts the engine hes off like a shot before the oil has even got half way up the engine. He must the car in gear with the clutch down before he even starts the car. The sec it fires up hes off!

hahaha, u guys take things too serious!

Its just a Mk 1 ph1 1.4 clio but its got a few willy parts on and a few valver ones! Lets just say its a project!

But no I normally run the car for a minute or so then drive it under 2k for about 5 mins, then wont take it above 3k for about another 10 - 15 min, unless something comes up like adam saids!

But Ive got the valver gauges just not hooked them up, wasnt too sure if I have the sensors on my engine to do it?

no not quite buddy just the steering wheel, dials and its either a valver or willy top dash!

Hows things anyway martin? u still racin 330 bmers around the country lanes of garstang?

And is ur car still dirty? cos if it is then Ive told u Ill give it a good valet for a quick blast? I think thats a fair deal!

No I dont break the speed limit its against the law. I washed my car on saturday before the meet so its not too bad, but it could be cleaner.
