how long do valver headgaskets normally last?

im just wondering if they are 1 of those jobs that will always need doing at some point or should they last well over 100k? id just hate 2 buy a car and have it go! lol

its just pot luck really, you could buy a car and i could last 1000's of miles. on the other hand you could buy a car and it go after 10 miles

I personally only got 10 miles out of mine. I did it myself, it wasnt very fun. BUT once its done its one less thing to worry about.

you know it makes sense though. They are no different from a normal car really in terms of headgaskets etc. BUT..... look for a good one that has been well looked after as you will be buying a cash muncher if you don't.
