How low?

  2002 clio 1.2
Hey i have a clio 1.2 2002. I have recently bought some 17" OZ superturismo wheels (205/40/17) off ebay for £120 :) . They aren't fitted yet but when they are i would like to get my car lowered. I don't want it to be anything over the top, would be grateful if anyone could put up pics of their lowered clios on 17" wheels. Also is it ok to just get lowering springs without damaging the existing shocks? or do shocks need replacing too?
Thanks,

Harry

you might have to see what the arches are like with a 60mm drop on 17's, but bear in mind when you lower it on just springs, they are advertised as 60mm, although they dont acctually drop the car a physical 60mm...

im running 16's with 192/145/16 tyres, about 90mm down on the front on coilovers and i get a tiny bit of rubbing turning right....

it also depends on the offset of the wheels that you are putting on... do you know what it is?

i was thinking maybe lowering 30mm or 35mm possibly. 60mm looks really low, don't you have trouble going over speed bumps? or when you have a lot of people in your car?

i always say its best to go 40mm on standard shocks, anything lower upgrade the shocks. Coilovers are the best by far. As mentioned, be careful about rubbing issues when lowering on 17's - but if you lower 30-35mm you will be fine
