How many 'points' on seatbelt harness?

3 or 4 points as they have road legal buckles, also you dont have to drill and make lots of new mounting points

The advantage of a standard 3-point inertia-reel belt are that:
(a) it adjusts automatically for a range of drivers,
(b) the vehicle was designed for its mounting points,
(c) it is designed to work in conjunction with the other safety devices in the car like airbags, and
(d) it is crash-test proven.

So while a 4, 5 or 6 point belt make be theoretically better, and may actually be better for a driver and passenger it is correctly adjusted for in a car that properly and professionally engineered for it, in practice the standard belt does a better job because your car doesn't have a full custom-designed fully-integrated roll cage for the racing-type belt to be mounted to, and if your girlfriend or partner or whoever else gets into your car they won't bother or won't know how to adjust the racing belt properly, and it only works as well as the standard belt if it is adjusted properly.

if your seats are on a subframe then they should have a harness mounting point on that subframe on the handbrake side. Then for the door side you can mount it to the original seatbelt mounting point. For the back you can mount one of the straps to the original rear seatbelt clip mounting point and as i own a mk2 i cannot suggest where to mount the other strap for a 4 point

Well, I bought a pair of tasty four pointers. Understand from post 7 where to put first two points, but can't work out for sure (even from the link in post 8) where the best points are behind, assuming no cage.

No one on this forum yet seems to have posted clear photos of their mounting points (ooo matron).

There isn't any realy if you do it safly either install the cage or use the higher rear seat belt points as there the next best thing.
