How much is 1st service

Right myu little 1.2 has just hit about 18500 miles. Its first service is now due, well was due about 500 miles ago.

How much is the first service likely to cost, and what do they do to the car for the money?

about 8500 and that includes a mk2 172 with the 24k just done to it

It really varies from place to place, people have paid between £130 and £200 for the first service, seams to be no consistancy in the prices. It should be around the £150 mark.

I suppose its been at least a few weeks since you tried to sell it to me!

Cost me £126 last week for 1st service on the 172, It would have been £151 if Id not supplied my own oil.

Do they mind you doing that then? What would be the best oil for a 1.2? nothing stupidly expensive though!

Would cost £99 at my old local dealership in Birkenhead.

Have shop round you can get it cheap. £100 to £150 is about normal.

Any reasonable oil should be fine.
