I'm thinking of selling my car (formerly known as Big Oor) maybe not the best time over xmas but i need the money and would like to buy a cheap run around to save money till i head back to Aussie land Does anyone know whether or not it would be best breaking the entire thing down to a shell and selling separate or just shifting it as a track spec clio on Pistonheads/AutoTrader? Some specs below.

RenaultSport Clio 172 02 plate in Monaco Blue
55,000 Miles
Cambelt/Aux Belt changed around 8k ago @ Birchdown
Will have MOT till Dec 2012 and Tax till June 2012
It's also a Cat D which i know will sway the price even though it's now solid and it's been checked over by 3 mechanics :/
Fully reconditioned gearbox done around 5k miles so still really tight

Mods:

OMP grand comfort reclining bucket seats (slight tare but in mint apart from that)
Billstein B14 Coilovers
3" slash cut prospeed straight through exhaust
3 point harness
330mm OMP steering wheel
Uprated engine mounts

...I can't really think of what else to put really, any valuations would be great and also whether or not splitting it all down or selling it would be best (Or keeping it as an Heirloom in the family....) lol

As standard you'd probably be lucky to get 2k.

Take the mods off, get those sold. Then decide. Breaking it is a boat load of hassle.

I don't have any of the standard parts, thats one of my issues with stripping it back to standard.. I also have my plate on there which is more hassle if I want to keep that (probably for my wall as i don't think i will put it onto another car) I can use my mates unit for stripping it all down etc so wouldn't be too bad but then selling all the parts and with xmas post, i can see the ballache of the task!

It's annoying me thinking about how much i've spent on it and to only get back about a 5th of that, makes me not want to sell it at all! I do plan on living in Aus so shipping it over - expensive! or leave it to rot on the drive/in the garage... lol sigh...

Tbh I doubt you'll sell it quickly anyway. I'd break it if I were you as its probably not worth much being cat d and it sounds like you've got some valuable parts on it.

Right basically I need my car to be sold soon as we're due a little boy on Xmas eve and I'm struggling to think of the best solution to my problem. Don't really want everyone knowing my business but here goes I need some good ideas

I have a 59 plate twingo 133 and I owe £8900 in a personal loan for the car. I'm trying to sell the car for £8000 but will accept offers lower than £8000.

I'm going to see a renaultsport trader tomorrow in Glasgow and he gave me something to think about on the phone. I was going to just "trade" the car in and take nothing in part ex but he would give me £6000 for the car then BUT if I take a Clio 182 off him in artic blue on a 04 reg that's done 59k miles he would give me £6700 and he is asking £3500 for the Clio that's had the belts and depahser pulley done (good price?)

So basically. 8900 I owe. 6700 for my car take away 3500 means I then have a 182 and I then send the £3200 cheque to the loan company and pay my normal monthly payments to the loan company (£267 a month) and have the Clio payed off in just under 2 years.

Is that a good idea or bad idea? Or do i stick it out and wait until the car sells (minimum £7500) private and buy a car off the money I get (£2500) and then send £5000 to the loan company) maybe seems like a have answered my own question but it's the risk i take in the car selling. I am only leaving it this late btw to sell the car I as have only just found out its a personal loan as I thought it was HP and I didn't have the rest of the money to pay the car off when it sold.

Not a Clio but how much would a mini cooper be worth.
It is a 53 plate r53.
In red with matching roof. Has the chrome pack too, grille, bumper inserts, handles etc.
Done 60k. Full service history with MOT till August 12. No tax.
Has the s spoke wheels (17") with very good runflats
Full panoramic roof (electric)
Full leather interior
Cruise control/AC etc

Service history is patchy to say the least, however since I've owned it there's lots more receipts.
MOT till June, tax till May or something. Would be sold with 6months though

i'd say around the 2,600 mark is a reasonable price the way the market is atm. being stripped its limiting the buyers.

id think about putting the standard interior/dash back in and making some money back on the seats and dash.

hey guys i have a 2005 Ph2 172 Cup in blue, just ticked over 100k. the pully and belt need doing soon and could do with new front shocks for the mot (which it needs) and needs tax. the paint work isn't the best but no scratches or dents just poor prep. is currently running 200bhp with print out and lots of receipts mots etc. is sitting on 15" turbines with tyres and has a good interior with drivers omp harness and short shift and quick link.

would be an awesome track car or a great project for the road if someone loved it a little.
its currently SORN and is in my way anyone got any ideas on how much it might be worth?

You may get more if you hold out but iv'e seen loads of ff 182's in rb for around 3k, Cups are less desirable, If your not desperate to sell it then stick it up for more and hold out for a top price
