How much would you pay for this V6??

  Racing Blue 182
Hi,

I have been offered a Vee and was wondering what people would price this at.

The car is silver mk2 on a 53 plate, which has done 13k miles
It is in like new condition and faultless according to the owner.
Four new tyres and a full service were done just over 1k ago.

It has been involved in an light front damage accident according to the owner and shows as cat D. It was repaired and run by a renault specialist called four ashes renault.

The guy does not have any photos of the accident damage.

So whats everyone think....assuming the car is as described, how much is it worth?

I'd be very very very wary of anything Cat anything... If you do want it, do some very detailed research. Even if the research costs you a couple of hundred pounds, it's worth it - rather than ending up with a duffer and wasting £10+grand

  Clio v6
I would say £8k

I do wonder about a specialist being in business for just 4 years?

Fourashes Renault: Formally trading as Cliospares Ltd in Wolverhampton after 4 years we had out grown ourselves and decided it was time too expand. We will now be breaking all Renaults mainly Clio.

I suppose if they can break a car, they can also bolt the bits back together?

Ok, so the price the guy has it up for is £13750....

I have found the orignal advert for the car when he got it, it was up for the same price then.

http://pistonheads.com/sales/200663.htm

Going to ring him now to discuss.....

The other one im considering is the Lunar Grey on pistonheads thats prices at £17k.....he said he would take £16.5....i just dont know if i can justify the couple of grand diff, but i worry when i come to sell it

8k?!? some of you need to come back down to earth
These people are just deamers,

I thought with Cat D they are normally worth a few thousand less than normal, so the way i see it

53plate V6 255 with 13k in mint condition with FSH and new tyres £15500

deduct £3000 because it is a Cat d

£12500 would seem a fair price to me

I just spoke to the guy...the damage was front end damage mainly bodywork, but with one suspension arm been damaged.

Im just waiting for the GF to come round, then think ill ring him up and go for a drive...the only problem is, he is two and half hours drive away.

  porsche 944 - 80's ftw!
Tbh m8, cut out the middleman.

Buy a damaged one from an auction and pay for it to be repaired yourself.

That way you will have still got it cheaper then this guy is selling his for and your safe in the knowledge that its been safely repaired.

Ok you might have to wait a while for one to turn up but you'll save £££'s and feel safe driving it afterwards.

Thats what i did with my cup.

And come to think of it if you've got £13,000 to spend on a car you wont believe what car you can get with a third of that amount and have the rest to repair.

I'd be very wary tbh, the seller says he has no pics of the damage so you've only got their word to go on, I know that they can become cat D pretty easily, but the damage colud have been worse than they are telling you.

Clio V6s seem to be written off is someone sneezes on them though.

Cat D could be the lightest of prangs, they are so expensive to repair (parts wise)

I went to see it yesterday....absalute minter. He wont take less than £13250 so im not sure what to do

personally i think its just a little too high mate...

Im not against listed cars, but they are tricky to sell, no getting away from it. Might be worth sitting tight and if he doesnt sell it, he might drop the price a little.

For top dollar, the car must have full documentation of the repair, pics invoices etc. and he doesnt have tat.

Always shocks me when someone is selling a mint car and then ads 1 photo.

Great effort

Get it to a garage you trust and get them to go over the car with a fine tooth comb! If it's all ok then pay your money knowing the car is mint, but expect a little trouble when you come to sell.

Put your offer in and give him your number then walk away, he will never sell it this time of year its a buyers market, leave it a few weeks and I bet you he will call you. I got a substantial amount off the Lupo doing this.

  Racing Blue 182
He does not want to sell it though, i think he is been told to by the better half, but dont count me on that....but yeh i have sent him my offer and see if he takes it, if not there is one coming in at a local garage to me as a part ex for a landrover, so will try get a bargain out of them
