So much for the massive life they are meant to have - once a year change item for me !

My 75k 6 year old ones in my 172 looked as good as the new ones!

Check the HT lead boots are sealing properly. If they let water in then any water splashed about the engine bay will find its way into the plug holes and stay there. If you don't do many long journeys it could take a long time to evaporate off!

Cheers

Thats got to have had water down the wells at some point. Bay cleaning?

Bloody hell, what year was your car?

1 of mine was exactly like that when I had mine changed (Nov 03 172 + 28k miles) :dead:

After covering 65K mine looked brand new...

Looks to me like you have had water down the wells / left the car standing for long periods of time / and / or only used the car for short journeys?!?! (maybeee)

looks like somebody has jet washed ur engine at somepoint, water would have sat around the plug making it go rusty
