How tight should I be ding the front top damper/strut nut?

I might be stripping the front of my car tomorrow to put the new springs on, was just wondering how tight I should be doing up the top nut on the damper/strut? also the nut that compresses the spring?

the little 17mm nut can be as tight as you like, the top cap (21mm) is just nipped by hand, you'll feel resistance - STOP!
