how tight to do manifold to decat springs

Just bought a new kit from nwperformance as id lost a bolt holding the decat onto the manifold but when i was fitting it if i do the springs up too tight then theres no flex between the decat and manifold meaning alot of strain i would think.

but i dont want to do them too loose as thats how i lost a spiring and bolt in the first place.

all i can think is that its because the gasget is not fully bedded in so theres more gap than there should be, meaning when i do the nuts up tight it squashes the springs too much.

don't like those kits, if you do them fully tight the springs are fully compressed

OE kit uses longer bolts and longer springs, fully tight = perfect

so thats why oe is 40 quid and not a tenner then lol.

So basically is it just going to be a guessing game untill i get it right and then put some thread lock on the nuts?

that's becuase they're the wrong bolts in those kits ;) there's very similar kits avialable with the right length bolts for more sensible prices

Hmm well I've got it anyway lol, if I loose a nut I'll get an or kit.

Gona give it a few weeks for the gasget to bed in and nip them up a bit and gob some silicon on the nuts if I've not lost them on the way to work tomorrow hah

Interesting coz i've just fitted the NWP fitting kit, springs were fully compressed when fitted and there is still a blow :( may need to order the OEM kit then to see if it improves

me thinks i'm gonna get on the blower to renault and order the fitting kit then to see if it stops the blow from the cat/mani joint, can't find the OEM kit online though :(
