How to choose a new camera...?

I've been using my 300d (yes, you read that right... 300d!) for about 900 years give or take, but I feel an upgrade is on the cards already!

I want to stick to Canon as I only need a body + camera grip etc, but there's quite a few options out there.

I'm happy to buy second hand, probably better as I'll get more for my money (in theory).

I've budgeted myself £500 but don't really know what to upgrade to...

Ideas?

A brand new 60D would be in budget and a massive leap up from your 300D in terms of features, high ISO etc. that's the only obvious upgrade in my opinion...

The 60D is favourite so far, but someone has suggested that the 50D is a better option?
