How to disable auto wipers and auto headlights?

yeah, the title says it all really

How do I disable auto wipers and auto headlights on a clio2 172?

really pissing me off when its not raining heavily enough for them to kick in and i just end up with a screen full of drops, and the headlights keep hitting on when I go through some trees, but not always if it is a dull day when they might actually be useful!!

I can't remember the exact order but if I guess and it's wrong, your car might turn into Megatron..

auto headlights- keep turning the lights on and off til you hear it beep , that is now disabled. to re-enable do the same turn on and off til you hear it beep. ( think its one beep for off and two for on )

cant remember how to do auto wipers

it's just reprogramming the sensor computer, or confusing it as you said

i would pressume so, my wiper stalk has a fault on it so i cant really go out and test it for you haha

yeah, i think the stalks on Renaults are a bit funky, my turning left indicator never cancels and turning right sometimes cancels, and my wife's meganes wipers go from intermittent to full speed

You can't disable the auto wipers/turn to normal intermitent action.

I'm sure I've heard you can fit a ph1 stalk but don't know myself.

So, on a test the auto lights on / off works fine, still no way to do the auto wipers though!

If anyone has any more ideas, post them up!

Stick a little square of black tape over the sensor for the wipers, with everything turned off?

Might be worth a try. Or surely the wiring for them is up in the rear view mirror area, disconnect it.

Having said that, i am pretty sure i could disable mine, as I remember Rain-X ing my windscreen and not using my wipers

Lights is ignition on the second click, then turn the sidelights on and then sidelights off. (Can't remember if you have to do it twice or not) as said earlier, it'll beep at you. With the wipers, can't you just push the stalk to the "off" position (sorry if I've missed something someone has already said) Then the stalk has a sort of slider on it, that's the sensitivity of the sensor. The "tape over half of it" sounds like a good idea if the sensitivity thing is broken. Also you could un-plug the sensor but then you'll have the "serv." Light on.
