How to hot wire a Clio 172.

  182, SQ7, Trafic
So the 172 I need to pick up, the bloke that's storing it has lost the key. What a ****.

So, I have a UCH, key, ECU and decoder ring from another 172. Both are Ph1. I'm hoping this should get the immobiliser turned off but which wires on the start motor do I need to short out together to get it to start.

Cheers
Danny

dont you need the key to take the ignition barrel out without having to faf about cutting it out ?

Yea I don't have the ignition barrel for the key I have.

If it was that simple I would of figured out I only needed to turn the key ;)

Just unplug the barrel and stick some wires in the plug it will be dead easy with imobilser happy.

There are just the 4 wires I think, corresponding to live and positions 1, 2 and 3. But I would take a multi meter.

It would be even easier to borrow a barrel of someone else tough lol.

The barrel has to come out to take the steering lock off unless you dont need the steering lock in which case just snap it

I don't have any other barrel/key combinations.

100% legit. My Missus brothers car for the last year. Just where it's being stored the blokes place is messy as f**k and he's lost it!

So Red to Yellow wire should start it?!

You need to complete all the circuits for position 1 and 2 and then touch the third wire in for the starter.

I can't remember which is which, I'll see if I still have my notes.

You should be able to remove the switch from the back of the barrel, use a screwdriver to turn it.

I am currently having issues with the key and decoder ring. Is there anyway I can effectively bypass or hotwire the car easily?

I bought a car last week without a key. The steering lock was solid so I just smashed the retaining pins off with a chisel.
