How to install an older versions of app?

As titled please can someone tell me how to do this (assuming it is actually possible)?

I desperately want Spotify installing on my old iPod Touch however every time I try via the app store it says "You must update to iOS 6.0 in order to download and use this app" As far as I can tell, the iPod is as up to date as possible.


(I have no idea what generation iPod it is but I could find out if you tell me how to check?) lol

1st gen iPod Touches only go up to iOS5.

Yet another reason why Apple are complete and utter c***s.

I'd imagine you will need to jailbreak it.
