How to mesh the front grille

  Nike Lunar Elite's

I want to mesh my front grille like on craigy172s clio but im not entirely sure how to do it. has anyone else attempted this? do you have to remove the big black panel attached to the grille completely, cut some out, or what?

If you mean the lower grill then it has to come out....quite expensive otherwise to replace it.

Its held in position by 4 or 5 lugs along the top and the same along the bottom....it then pushes from the outside inwards. If you remove the 2 bolts from under the front scuttle panel then it makes it a bit easier to get out.

I must get some pics taken of mine so you can see....

Formed the grill and it is held in place by tie wraps....drilled a small hole in the lugs to get them through.

m8 i tried to mesh that part on my clio, its a proper mission. If u lift your bonnet the black plastic part is quite large and covers all between the headlamps, you can unscrew this, i think theres about 4 screws and you need one of them gay star shapped reno screwdriver thingbobs.

I did try wrapping the mesh around the bottom part of the grill and folding it under but it just didnt look right, looked ok from a distance, but turd up close, so i removed it.

I did try it without the black plastic bit but it wouldnt stay and didnt fill the gap properly. So im all out of ideas, whoever that clio is he/she must have a good way of doing it cos it looks mint.

It does look mint. I think it would be a great contrast againt my blue clio, especially cus ive had the bump strips and the top of the bumpers sprayed silver. if i cant find anyone who knows how to do it ill have to ask the bodyshop when i go and get my sideskirts painted.

I aint got any at the moment Jonesy. I got the side strips off in an attempt to perfect the finish but i should have them back on tomorrow. Ill see if I can pinch my dads digital camera and get a pic on here tomorrow. Colour coded it all my self. The side strips and roof spoiler have been pretty easy to do but the front and back bumper was tough. It aint a great finish so Im gonna get done professionally next month.

Jonesy, just seen the photoshop pics of your car in the media forum. How much did you pay for your double optic headlamps and the spotlights? Did you fit them yourself? Were they an easy job?

Hi, the headlamps I bought were from http://www.andyspares.com/SPAN style=COLOR: windowtext"> www.andyspares.com/SPAN they are the £45 each and they are brand new, look for Clio sport 99>. Fitting them was fairly easy, you need to remove the panel under the grill part between the headlamps to get to some screws to get the headlamps out. They fit straight in after that, but they also need to be rewired.

I did the rewiring with a m8 and his oldman, took about an hour but isn’t too hard if you now what your doing, or you could do what some people on here have done and pay a qualified electrician to do it for you. But that costs money :p

I don’t now about the fogs, because they came with the car as part of a deal when I bought it new. But again you can get these from andyspares for £29 each brand new look for Clio 98>. Only thing is wiring them up because you will need to make a switch to turn them on and off?? I think you can buy the switch that goes on the stalk on the steering wheel from renault, but I would have thought fitting it and wiring it would be a mission.

Hope this helps, btw your car looks mint with silver bumpers, so tempted to do it myself.

Sweet, should be looking proper mint when its all done, im hopefully ordering the prima sideskirts, I emailed prima and they cost £125 for the pair so just gotta wait till I get paid, I think they are the same ones uve ordered.

Yea they probably are the same, they have got 4 indents near the rear of the skirt. My dads phoning prima today cus im at work all day to order my rear splitter, its the one where it swoops down either side. The parts should be here on the 10th. I just gota find somewhere cheap to buy my front splitter from now so i can get everything together for the 10th when ill go to the bodyshop. Im guessing that you have got you car lowered Jonesy, judging by "Slamed Clio on 17s" How much have you lowered it and have you had any arch rubbing problems, especially with 4 people in the car, being as im everyone elses transport?
